RINGS OF STRENGTH Metal Model

The ancient Games were initially a one-day event until 684 BC, when they were extended to three days. In the 5th century B.C., the Games were extended again to cover five days. The ancient Games included running, long jump, shot put, javelin, boxing, pankration and equestrian events.

The winners of the first Olympic Games became national heroes of their countries and enjoyed certain privileges throughout the year, until the next performance. But the main achievement for all countries participating in the games was peace, since all conflicts ceased during the competition, which became an excellent symbol of the uniting strength of the human spirit and skill. In modern times the Olympic Games were revived at the initiative of Baron Pierre de Coubertin in 1896 and since then have been held every 4 years. 

Five rings became the symbol of new competitions: blue, yellow, black, green, red, representing the unification of the five continents of the Earth. Olympic rings are symbols of an open and honest struggle, the triumph of the achievements of mankind, peace and cooperation without selfish goals.
